Many initial notices such as the CP515 or CP518 are computer-generated soft letters designed to encourage voluntary compliance through fear. This all depends on your state. Some states have no state income tax at all, some states income tax laws piggy-back on the federal laws, while other states have income tax forms and laws independent of the federal government. Even if you must pay state income tax, this does NOT mean you have to pay federal income tax.

Yes, by sending your contribution through the U.S. Mail (USPS), not through private couriers such as FedEx or UPS. Tampering with U.S. Mail is a federal criminal offense, offering a much higher level of protection. How about the 87,000 new IRS Agents to be hired?

The IRS hiring 87,000 new agents is not a threat to those who follow Freedom Law School's methods. The IRS can only legally act within its jurisdictional limits. FLS members who follow proper procedures have nothing to fear from IRS expansion.
